先々週～先週にかけて、東京都練馬区、目黒区、埼玉県越谷市、入間市の四か所の教育委員会に対し、全国有志子どもを思う会と全国有志保育士の会が共同で先日集計、発表した「教職員保育士指導者アンケート（ https://kodomowoomou-kai.com/info/4959733 ）」の結果をメールまたは郵送で送付しました。
全国有志子どもを思う会（ https://kodomowoomou-kai.com/ ）は、体質でマスクができず学校で苦しんできた子どもを持つお母さんが中心となった保護者団体で、学校等の教育保育現場でのマスクの任意化や黙食の廃止を求めて懸命に活動しています。駅前での街宣活動もしていて、予定はツイッターでも告知されます。中心メンバーではなくても誰でも参加可能なので、私も個人として参加してポストカード型のチラシ配布のお手伝いをしています。
今回のアンケートは、コロナの感染対策で子どもたちにどのような影響が出ているのか、普段現場で直に子どもと接している保育園や幼稚園、学校、習い事の先生たちから見た情報や意見をまとめたものです。私も読みましたが、子どもたちの体力の低下や発話によるコミュニケーション能力の低下を感じると答えた先生が非常に多くいたのが印象的でした。皆さんもぜひ上のURLからご覧になってみてください。
私が冒頭の四か所の教育委員会に送付した理由は、この四か所が学校での給食時のいわゆる黙食について、昨年１１月に文科省が「会話も可能」と通知を出したにもかかわらず、依然として「会話を控える」というガイドラインを緩和していなかったためです。黙食を事実上続けるのであればその他の過剰な感染対策も教育委員会レベルで今後も続けるのではないかと懸念し、もっと多角的に子どものことを考えてほしいという思いを込めて情報提供しました。
黙食を始めとした過剰な感染対策が子どもたちにどのような悪影響を与えるかは未知数です。感染を広げないために食事中は話すな、と何年にもわたって抑圧し続けることは、子どもたちに慢性的な緊張感による心理的ストレスをかけ続けることに繋がるのではないでしょうか。それはそれで無視できないリスクだと思います。
社会生活を送るうえではコロナだけではない様々なリスクがあります。各教育委員会にはコロナのゼロリスクだけを追求するのではなく、様々なリスクの大きさを冷静に比較し、子どもたちの心身の健康にとって何が良いのかを俯瞰的に考え、バランスの取れた環境を整えていってほしいものです。
